In Pursuit of a Dream

As a self-published author and illustrator of two books I have learned a lot about the book industry and myself over the last seven years and I'd like to share some of the what I have learned with you.

This blog is for all aspiring authors and anyone who has a dream but isn't sure they can accomplish it due to time constraints, lack of belief in their abilities or lack of motivation. Even though I've never personally lacked the motivation, I have struggled with the issues of not having enough time and not having the confidence in myself to feel like I can achieve the success I desire.

Over the years many people have asked me how I have managed to work, raise two kids and still have time to write two books. I think it's important for people to know that there's always time for things that are important to you. It may just take you a little bit longer to finish, but you will. For example. My first book took me three years to publish and my second book took me three and a half years. In both instances, the time felt like an eternity, but when writing isn't your full-time job you have to squeeze it in where you can. Over the years I've learned to be grateful and proud of my accomplishments and try to be patient when things aren't moving along fast enough.

Goal for the week:
Be a happier you-Find something you like to do that's just for you and do it!
